A seeker came to study with a Master.
Who are you? Asked the Master.
- My name is Thijs
That is only what you are called.
- I am a scholar.
That is only what you do.
- I am human.
That is only your species.
- I am a consciousness inhabiting this body.
That is what you are, not who you are.
At last I said,
- I am…
and all other answers fell away.
The Master opened the door.
Now you may enter.
